There have been a number of examples in the past involving the US DOD, one of the more recent ones is the deal done with Merck for the supply of some 1.7 million doses of Molnupiravir. The original article (June 9th 2021) proposed that if they got emergency approval by the FDA the deal would be consummated. (See reference 1).

It is a real possibility for us specially as the prevalence of CHIKV occurs in many areas where the US military operates.
