Yes indeed, but HK's proximity to and influence from China makes me uncomfortable with direct exposure to investments there, to what is a ultimately a company domiciled in China.
No investment is free of risk, and the challenges you are alluding to are definitely present here. What I find instructive in these situations is assessing the management quality and level of alignment with ordinary shareholders - on both counts, Magellan scores highly, and they have a long track record to show for it too.
