To be fair, it was a mistake and a bridge that Karl burnt (as an experienced fund manager) that he should not have gone anywhere near ! Especially having 18% of the fund in ! In other words, it wasn’t just an aberration… it was a catastrophic failure in terms of judgement, research, policy and in every other way.
That catastrophic failure was with SH funds, and they are well entitled to be both wary and battle scarred !
