Just to add a bit more, Toyota Tsusho, which is the go between between BHP and the Toyota Panasonic jv (Prime Planet), is an associate of the Toyota mothership, whose job it is basically to deliver supply lines into the Toyota ecosystem (as I understand it there are various companies, related in one way or another, in that ecosystem all delivering services and products for the biggest car maker in the world).
What is exciting is that Toyota Tsusho is also the cornerstone investor in Orocobre, and still has a rep on Orocobre's board of directors (according to its website anyway), and has an exclusive but flexible marketing deal for Olaroz stage one product (and an option on stage two as well). They were also central for Orocobre getting such a screaming bargain with regards Naraha. Note though it is the Toyota mothership, not Toyota Tsusho (TTC), that jointly owns Naraha with Orocobe. (TTC's job is to source the supplies, not downstream process them).
So along the lines of six degrees of Kevin Bacon, Orocobre is now working with BHP to supply Toyota (and Panasonic).

And of course Panasonic know what they are doing since they have been making batteries for Tesla in Tesla's Nevada factory for years and will continue to do so. While Tesla is starting to make its own batteries, it will still take heaps from others such as Panasonic and CATL to satisfy its rapidly expanding manufacturing.
