Put in a big order to get peoples expectations up, remove the bid and substitute a lower order and people get spooked, suck up the shares people panic sell at a lower price.
Not pleasant games but they would not do it if people did not get scared and sell.
Mind you, the SP went down on the back of 42k in total trades. Hardly a pointer to any trent anyway.
