The federal EV purchase incentives in the United States are still unchanged from the Trump presidency and there is dispute among democrats about the cost of the reconciliation bill. The EV purchase incentives are contained within that reconciliation bill.

You can only hope that the purchase incentives make it into the final bill that will be passed.

Joe Lowry said that the plans of the current administration make the United States far from being self reliant in regards to battery raw materials. Apart from that I don't understand the alleged link between more mining in the US and rising lithium prices. The more is mined lower prices become. To me it looks like the current administration wants to do a lot for the EV value chain but the mining aspect is given less attention.
