The Cambridge Centre for Molecular Therapeutics has demonstrated an unprecedented hit rate of approximately 0.1% of unselected Phylomers, for specific blockade of AP1 dependent signaling pathways. Phylomer peptides were also identified via a direct Phenotypic screen for binding to live bacteria, which demonstrated potent antimicrobial activity against clinical isolates of multi-drug resistant microorganisms. We have recently obtained in vivo data from a pneumonia model, showing that these Phylomers can block lung colonization upon injection.
