The problem with developing a roadmap for renewables in Australia is we have no idea what efficiencies in battery storage can be achieved, or not.
It seems downright crazy to be looking to push harder on the replacement of coal with solar and wind while the bit of the equation that kind of makes it workable, the battery, is so blindingly inadequate.
The sensible thing is to either wait for the technology to improve if you want full on renewables, or have a mix of renewables and HELE coal, modular nuclear and gas.
