The thought crossed my mind that the test firing that mst had last December and the one that mst20twenty said was General Dynamics was the company that didn't want to be named but who were mentioned in this Shipboard Protection System program as being one of the companies that are in the program , here-:General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products, Burlington,
Vt., which will be the lethal engagement systems integrator
and support the weapons-system safety certification!
Now remember that in the latest announcement today they spoke of a small calibre weapon, could it possibly be something like the 9mm door shredder that gets posted so often as being the million round per min weapon??
If this is the weapon in use on the Shipboard Protection? then the Rate of fire is variable, it could just have the KE impact of a low velocity 9mm round at low ROF, but if the ROF is in the maximum ROF range? then that makes me think that we may be talking of a much higher KE, so perhaps these rounds have the KE of something akin to more than 30mm, perhaps this weapon has a variable KE between that of a 9mm round at medium velocity to a much larger KE? something along the lines of a 30mm round at high velocity?
a weapon that fired 9mm at medium velocity would be similar to a small handgun, with a very limited range, but at extremely high rates of fire this weapon could be quite deadly at long range? and perhaps be equivalent to something like a 30mm weapon in effect!
Now that would definately get any terrorists attention, if they had that much time to think!
