So for the last few months MKR has been doing silver exploration and mapping around Wonawinta including Smiths Tank. I don't know who comes up with these names but yeah it is actually geologically speaking an interesting area to investigate.
Smiths Tank
Identified parallel and west of the Wonawinta zone, Smiths Tank is a thrust and fold zone that is arepeat of the Wonawinta stratigraphy as interpreted from the seismic profile to the south. Seismicdata shows Smiths Tank and Wonawinta Faults dip west towards Darling Basin. Smiths Tank faultextends to approx. 6km depth and Wonawinta fault is interpreted to 9km depth. Previous exploration by CRA and CCR has identified Ag soil anomalies only partially tested by shallow RABdrilling and limited RC drilling. The deeper sulphide potential is untested. Proposed follow-up workwill consider structural-stratigraphic targeting, additional soil sampling grids over a wider greenfieldsarea, Aircore drilling and follow-up selective RC drilling.
There is a literal line pointing to Smiths Tank with the already done Deep Drilling "Proof of concept" . So why is Smiths Tank one of their first targets? Well the results from their deep drilling may indicate why. These are the results MKR were happiest with for the ASX announcement in June. An abundance of the "bimble line" pointing to Smiths Tank appearing.
Now who cares if there is a line pointing to Smiths Tank what is the relevance. Well it is the fault line at Smiths Tank which is interesting because it, along with the other fault line could have concentrated large amounts of minerals of interest. And since it is virtually virgin land at depth we could be looking at a huge find here.
So if any of this sounds like mumbo jumbo I found an animated GIF which could help you understand more clearly.
