Landau does need work. It's been a bit of an orphan over its life, sold and traded to a number owners. You say "it's not working properly", but it is working. It would be a great fit for VUL to establish it as a demonstration plant while the new hole is bored.

Insheim? You say no chance? How much is a 4MW geothermal plant worth? Insheim had 95% uptime last year and was profitable. The year before it had circa 78% uptime and ran at a loss (check their annual reports). It's a well run plant but is still only financial marginal.

Something to consider.... maybe Li extraction makes these plants viable. Great synergy for a decarbonised future. It's coming @lithium2021 , open your eyes and dont get run over trying to stop the inevitable.
