I think you’re being pedantic in your definition of short selling nOObmasta ! The reality is they haven’t had the shares to sell and are happily creating a market selling what they don’t own believing they will purchase it from the naive in OZ happy to sell to them AXP at a fraction for what they have sold them. On Friday night for example, of the 210M sold on the OTC, 150M were sold as a promise, the MMs prepared to even up their books later . Call it what you will, but from a purist perspective that is short selling !
