Those my midnight thoughts as well.
They are shopping it out to various companies - they all have to see a lot of technical data and rather than keep trading they have locked it down until they have shown everyone the data. Then shareholders will receive a technical update before resumption of trading.
That way the first company that sees the goods has no time advantage over the last one.
