"where are you seeing the 446 schools registered as at October 15th?"
From within the platform.
What's not known is how many of those schools are via a free trial. Although with high retention rates that's less of a concern.
With higher than usual teacher turnover expected, the recruitment season has been brought forward one or two months this year, as schools attempt to position themselves for staffing next year.
Schools in China in particular, where most of SCL's customers are based, will see particularly high turnover. By the end of this academic year in June, 22, expats will have effectively been stuck in-country for at least 2 years and 3 months. The strict 28 day quarantine policy on return make it prohibitive to travel. As such, higher numbers of staff will be returning home or move to teaching positions in countries with more relaxed borders.
Student enrollments are also beginning to rise again in countries outside China which have begun returning to face-to-face teaching. Numbers in many schools dropped substantially as parents refused to pay hefty fees for remote learning or returned to their home countries.
So schools will be attempting to cover both a loss of teachers and influx in student enrollments.
Much of this is based on anecdotal information which appears to align with data on the Schrole platform and SA database.
