Interesting contest. acid based ISR with ion exchange extraction vs hard rock mining followed by sulpuric acid leach with ion exchange extraction using alkline resin.
VMY is a ground up establishment with BOE re-establishing previous operational plant.
On the surface, BOE should win hands down but then consider the PEN experience with ISR. After entering production, the alkaline elutant proved ineffective on their deposits and so they have swtiched to hydrochloric acid. A few years later, they are still trying to sort it out.
BOE too, are changing parameters although continuing with acid elutants but introducing new IX processing.
VMY have not yet pinned down their approach to extraction and so plenty of room to slip the timeframe in order to resolve issues.
Both are now permitted but I do not think that VMY has export approval yet, whereas BOE does.
May the best man win.
In case no-one has recognised this, other than brownie points, the companies are only wanting an economic extraction of U3O8 and could not give a rats ar*e about who is first to market. There will be plenty of demand for everybody.
