Sorry for the late reply. I have intentionally kept myself away from HC lately, as not much tangible progress is there in public announcement to be discussed meaningfully anyway.
As a long term investor of this company, I am confident with my investment in EGR and the direction this company is heading. I 100% understand the frustration of the news vacuum, or should I say the silence of THE GRAND DADDY Announcement we all eagerly await, and I am too sometimes feeling the impatience in my belly.
However, I believe there are enough bread crumb trails in recent announcements to indicate that real progress are being made step by step under the cover. Recent announcements were all coherent with each other and if you join the dots, it is quite obvious that there is at least one large customer who determines our progress, plant requirements and when their names can be announced.
Battery Graphite is a specs driven material that can not be produced by a standard off-the-shelf engineering design. Therefore I believe detailed EPC contract can only be finalised after our management is confident that our product produced from demonstrable commercial scale equipments adopting this design is endorsed and qualified by our large potential customer. I believe today’s announcement is of such crucial importance to our progress towards securing the off-take. Our deal must not be far away. So is our EPC contract. And all the regulatory applications thereafter.
I again completely understand the frustration around the deafening silence mainly driven by our potential customers, but if their identity is truly a German leading EV manufacturer or its industrial associates as we speculate, then we have to understand that Germans (and EU in general), unlike AUKUS alliance, have way more intelligence, composure and sophistication in their diplomacy with China. Chinese market is their largest oversea market after all and is crucial to their economic stability and growth, therefore they are not stupid enough to treat it with clumsy handling and ignorance. I can safely assume our European client will definitely want to keep their identity to the very last minute when every aspect of the project has been professionally secured. But again, base on today’s announcement, I do feel our potential client now has even less reasons to withhold their name for any longer.
I mean no preaching and we all have our own risk to take. But my view for now is that I am firmly holding until such time graphite is going to be inevitably and commercially replaced by other materials.
