You are 100% correct however govt globally, particularly the Australian Govt, are always late in recognising obvious future needs.
There are already companies in Australia that will have recycling of the complete spent batteries and production scrap to return these valuable energy minerals to the supply chain to provide closed loop manufacturing and recycling of batteries.
Along with RFX they present the opportunity to invest in both sides of the coming increase in global battery production.
While govt agencies are giving these developments major project status the lack of any Federal government policy on the exploding renewable and batteries sectors is not helping Australian leadership in this field.
These projects will be provide energy minerals production and later recycling in the short to medium turn at the time when battery production is exploding.
Govt will catch up eventually, hopefully with more forward thinking politicians than current ones.
