Could you elaborate how fraudulent gift cards would have a detrimental material impact for Zip?
If in the event of fraud, the responsibility would fall back on Blackhawk as the provider of the gift card, not Zip who is simply acting as the 'middle man' BNPL solution for the customer. Zip would have absolutely no liability after they have provided the BNPL transaction for the customer and funds have been directed to Blackhawk. Any future liability as a result of fraud, would be out of Zips hands and directly on the customer, the retailer and Blackhawk. Zip are certainly not 'dumb' when it comes to technology and financial security. The single use digital card would be an example.
Tapping into an expected $2 trillion global industry in the future. Another great move!
