This sentiment is why I have strong belief in ultimate approval. The national interest is a strong and should prevail; approval will ultimately be based on facts which include that gas exploration does not cause destruction of beaches, oceans or habitats, and certainly doesn't cause economic harm - so those arguments will evaporate instantly. National resources are for all Australians; cannot be controlled by a small minority with baseless arguments.

Australia still understands the importance of resources investment and stable, due process. Legal projects are still legal.

Having said all that, can’t explain why it’s taking so long.

First find out if gas there….then if it is, most efficient and low impact way to develop it; which likely could include a subsea tie-back to shore - ie. no platform and nothing visible! Simples.
