Am interested to know more about why you think its a lousy deal. I think its pretty positive for shareholders. 1. according to the AFR the Tas Govt will tip in money to help rehabilitate 2. Vedante is tipping in money to assist with the transfer 3. S-S is tipping in money to buy a share of NCZ and transform it into a rehabilitation co. 4. NCZ will repay virtually all its debt 5. NCZ will lock in a Zn hedge for the next couple of years with Macquarie 6. NCZ has renegotiated the terms of its Env. bond with MMG which frees up (more) cash on top of the cash they are already generating. AISC costs are getting lower each qtr. 7. There is a solid roadmap to extend the current NCZ mine life. 8. The companies they have partnered with are all solid and reputable. Its not perfect, and no-one will be "backing up the truck" but its a solid and well thought out way forward for a mine that has had its troubles, not the least of which is just bad luck due to low Zn prices and high TC's for the last few years.
