the reason the nazis came to power is because after WW1 we had the traditional monarchic structures falling .....the bolsheviks in Russia exploited this....and in doing so had created a huge stir throughout European countries, who were coming out WW1 devastation and looking for a new more equitable world order. This lead to a proliferation of left of centre, socialist , communist hard left political groups agitating all over Europe.
When society swings too far in one direction ie the left, this tends to have an equal and opposite effect in the opposite direction...some countries swung to communism...eg Yugoslavia born out of WWI....the other baltic states.....Germany Italy went hard right. They also had strong virulent socialist parties & groups ....however they were countered & neutralised by an even stronger virulent hard right.
so in summary the bolsheviks and Russia (hideous lefty ideology)are to blame for the rise of fascism in Germany, Italy & Spain.
