Because MQG is a investment bank. Rather a conservative one with a very good history of operations in the capital markets. Why not issue shares into all time highs in a clearly Fed led bubble market. Its a near free source of capital that will serve them well in the business operations, irrespecive of what the market does. MQG has been in this business for far longer than any of us. If there is a market collapse when the stupid ECB and Fed stop calling inflation, running at 5%+ for 5 months now, transitory and have to not only quickly withdraw QE, but raise rates, MQG's business will be all the better for it.
Objectively from a business perspective I applaude it.
If you've been a long-term holder of MacQuarie then you've enjoyed a very nice run up in share price. Perhaps you are being a bit too 'salty'.
