re pre-open volume, the absolute numbers have little relevance
what is much more important is how things have changed since the night before - how many buyers and sellers have come on
if you look at the relative change you have more buyers that have come on than sellers - so there is buying pressure a very good indicator that the price will finish in the green even if the SP opens even
of course where the orders are in the depth is also very important
