If researching, the company has changed its name a few times so look under Gradipore for initial invention (1990s - they thought interesting but of little/no commercial value) … Life Therapeutics (patented it I think) … they then spun out the Australian business as Nusep (with this tech as a minor part of the business) … Nusep also then almost went bust and dropped everything except this tech, recapitalised, changed its name to Memphasys and has been focussed on commercialisation ever since.

Given what was already published and was public knowledge prior to 2004, they may have been lucky to be granted a patent. But, at least this gives them some protection for the next 3 years before relying on know-how and minor/supporting patents.

My heart desperately wants these guys to succeed for the many couples needing to use their services as well as getting some Aussie tech up … but my head won’t allow me to invest as by the time they launch they won’t have much (if any) key patent protection left.
