A lot of people are confused here on Pilot studies and reporting statistical significance.
You would not normally do so, some do but it is even recommended by studies to not do, like here:
I can not comment on Management or the company. Just pointing out that the pilot study is a jumping-off point to ensure they should be progressing to larger trials.
The sample size is small but you wouldn't have a 500+ pilot study, nor would you be looking for good P-values on such a small sample size.
