SINGAPORE, Sept 7 (Reuters) - Beijing Yanhua Petrochemical Corp is planning a maintenance shutdown at its cracking unit in 2006, skipping any major works next year, a company official said on Tuesday.
The firm expects to produce about 800,000 tonnes of ethylene this year, up from last year's 710,000 tonnes.
The cracker has a nameplate capacity of 710,000 tonnes per year (tpy), but many Chinese crackers are operating above capacity to take advantange of robust petrochemical prices.
Yanhua had its last major cracker maintenance in 2003.
"We are trying to do one turnaround every 3 years," the official from Beijing said. He did not provide a specific schedule for the shutdown.
