The data lags the market by four trading days, which seems like a dereliction of duty by ASIC when one considers the ease with which this data could be gathered in today's hyper-connected digital world. Anyway, ASM's total short positions currently comprise 1.44% of the float, which is at the low end of the spectrum, and it is likely that some of those shorts are being used to hedge long positions. It's also worth noting that so far, and in general, those who have shorted ASM have done poorly.
