NEW YORK, Sept 7 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks closed at their highest levels in two months on Tuesday as a fall in oil prices eased investor concerns that high energy costs would dampen consumer demand and hurt corporate profits.
The Dow Jones industrial average closed up 81.48 points, or 0.79 percent, at 10,341.68, according to the latest data. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index ended up 7.56 points, or 0.68 percent, at 1,121.19. The technology-laced Nasdaq Composite Index closed up 12.94 points, or 0.70 percent, at 1,857.42.
