Some 20 yrs ago, I worked in Antigua for 6 months, and took family with me. The locals were still recovering from hurricane Hugo, which ravaged the island. The people had nothing, NOTHING ! Yet they were the kindest and friendliest people I have ever met. Two old men who lived in no more than a garden shed, which due to the hurricane , was leaning at 45 degrees. There was no windows, and you could see their clothes hanging on nails inside. They spent their day leaning on the front porch, (probably holding it up) and everyday my 2 kids would walk by on their way to the beach and say hi to the two men, who would give the kids lollies, or bead necklaces they had made for them.
There is more to life than money.
