Thanks, I will look into TPI.
So far I have only invested in mineral/oil companies. Besides BHP they were fairly speculative (not a good sign) with "growth potential".
My super funds (then lodged in an industry fund) went into cash because I saw the crash coming, but I was a bit over-confident about how I would handle my remaining investments. Normally I would just sell out all investments to avoid losses while my portfolio was still positive. I got a bit mesmerised by it all and I started buying some mineral companies (eg WSA) a bit too early in the downturn after September 2008. Selling down at a loss in December 2008 was in part due to advice/information/views I received from an industry "expert", but ultimately I am responsible for my investment choices.
I have to learn better portfolio management techniques. Fear is normal and can be a good thing. It forces you to take action, but it needs to be managed.
Things are OK for now.
Cash is also an investment choice, and needs to be considered in a supposedly low inflation period where there is a high risk of future instability.
