What a week. What a ride. It felt appropriate to celebrate with a nice beer. It is my tradition that my boys (9,7,5 and 3) buy me a carton of the Coopers Vintage Ale for fathers day. I cellar them in my walk in robe (7.5% alcohol), and every now and then make sure they are not going off. This was my first tasting of the 2018 vintage, the same age as my IMU shares.
I wanted to get into the biotech sector because my usual mining stocks had lost me hundreds of thousands of dollars. I know nothing about the industry but like the idea of the body fighting the disease. I found 2 stocks with immune in the name, (IMU and IMM) and asked my sister in law (a molecular biologist with a PHD in malaria) which one to go for. She said she didn't have knowledge in the area, but IMU would be her choice (for a minor reason i forget). So i bought $50k of them, I don't like to diversify, and left them in the bottom draw. I didn't follow or research what they did except for checking the share price every week. It was a punt. I would be up 90% if i chose IMM, not bad at all, but i do prefer 2360%.
I then lost my job in June 2020 and have been unable to get another one - too old and specialized. So in Feb 2021 i started educating myself on investing in the stock market, reading lots of books, and listening online to people like The ASX Investor, and of course joined hot copper. So i can relate to and appreciate the honest and entertaining reflections from @jip123. Back when the share price dropped from 49c to sub 30c i started to stress! Enter the great @jip123, who inspired me to email Leslie with my questions. It was the day before the Celularity partnership announcement. She replied in a few hours, with some quick answers, and said she would get back to me soon with more detail as she was very busy. The next day i read the Celularity announcement and listened to the webinar, and at 6.40pm got an email back from Leslie providing the science and reassuring me. She signed off saying 'I understand that since the shares have been issued, there has been some sells. The fundamentals of the company remains and as of today, even stronger. I have had 13 hours of talking and interviews and it’s my husband’s birthday so I better be a good partner.'
But back to the beer. Doesn't seem to be too frothy (over valued) and has a lot in common with IMU. Safety and efficacy good, relaxes the nervous system, and treats the taste buds. Get the science right (hops, barley ...) and be patient, it will only get better.
I want to say thankyou to many others on this forum who have helped me resist offloading my 2018 vintage, including @Zior,@davybabyk, @Odds&Evens, @sagitarius,@Taureanbull, @fattchoi, @Kluck, @RitzyBusiness,@Steini@JimmyBgood, @Oddoneout, @valueadd, @Owl vs Fox, @unbelieveable and of course @Watmighthavben
