Bonanza Grade Gold Zones a Maybell

'BONANZA' GRADE GOLD ZONES AT MAYBELL

* Channel sampling at surface and underground has identified
high-grade ore zones within the Maybell ore body.

* Significant results recorded to date include 6m @ 95.63 g/t gold
and 26m @ 13.53 g/t gold.

Encouraging results continue to flow from Mawson West's Maybell
project, which is part of an advanced group of projects the company
has under option in the Norseman district of Western Australia.
Detailed and systematic exploration consisting of geological mapping,
geophysics and surface and underground sampling is now nearing
completion in preparation for an RC and diamond drilling program
scheduled to commence next week.

UNDERGROUND CHANNEL SAMPLING

Systematic underground channel sampling has been completed along the
main development drive of the northern workings (a total of 96
metres). A series of 2 metre channel samples were collected along the
entire strike within the ore zone. Sampling has confirmed that the
Maybell ore body is mineralized over its entire strike length, with
better results including 26m @ 13.53g/t gold* and 8m @ 19.5 g/t gold.

Other ongoing sampling of the underground development has consisted
of routine face and bulk sampling of both the main development drive
and exploration sub-level as development continues. Sampling across
the main ore body at the southern development face (the southern most
extent of the northern workings) returned a result of 3m @ 37.71 g/t
gold.

* No upper cut and a 1.0g/t lower cut with a maximum of 4 metres
internal dilution was used to calculate intercepts.

SURFACE CHANNEL SAMPLING

A detailed surface channel sampling program was completed in all
trenches and open faces that covered the main Maybell veins. In
general, the main vein itself was not sampled due to limited access
with sampling completed along strike, in either the footwall or the
hangingwall. The surface channels results recorded to date are
encouraging considering a significant near surface depletion of gold
and have further defined the higher-grade zones of the ore body.
Better results include 6m @ 95.63 g/t gold (including 2m @ 282 g/t
gold), 14m @ 3.89 g/t gold and 18m @ 107 g/t gold. Surface sampling
has now defined anomalous gold results on the main Maybell veins over
more than 500 metres in strike and the ore body remains open to both
the north and south.

The mapping, geophysical interpretation and systematic sampling
programs that remain ongoing over the Maybell and surrounds have
significantly added to the understanding of the Maybell ore body. A
diamond and RC drilling program designed to test both the strike and
down dip extent of the Maybell ore body and any additional targets
generated by the ongoing exploration program is scheduled to begin
next week and further results will be released as they come to hand.
