It may be worthwhile noting the denial by CEO Johnson that there would be no acquasitions.
This is a blunt denial, as only a few months ago they have made a bid, which failed badly for NiWest.
Like any acquasition, it has to be denied three times before there is one.
Yesterday was certainly the first, if not the second.
Interesting times ahead.
