That's kind of what I was implying. The cliff is there whether you believe it or not, true. We must accept the functionality of reality, but as soon as the consequences are less than lethal we tend to go off all over the place. Many humans are victims of the theatre of the mind, no more so than religion and even here, many religions have turned out to have lethal consequences. They demand lethal consequences.
Who could believe that a religion would demand blood transfusion refusal at the cost of your life and yet we have one. And this is because G.d finds blood sacred, the same blood that rots after you die from blood loss.
All experience is delusional, but we have learnt to not test stepping off a cliff. The only reality is probably maths and some science.
