I have no expertise with regasification, however I imagine the cost of unloading and regasification would be cheaper than coal unloading.

I don't see why a special port would be reauired, however you know more about this stuff than me.

Many industrial ports have existing thermal plants, there would be an abundance of waste heat available for regasification, and in many cases sea water would be viable.

Anyway heating a fluid to 10 deg C has to be easier than chilling to -160 deg.
