Turns out that this is nonsense. Downer got everything wrong. The number of planes, the emissions, everything.

But even if he had his figures right, they were still wrong.

If you use Downer's own estimates, did the private jets ferrying delegations emit as much CO2 as Scotland in a year?

No they did not. Downer exaggerated by over 3000%.
