This was announced on the morning of the 10th Nov., so its most likely not the cause.
According to the AFR:
"Shares in Fortescue Metals Group climbed 9.7 per cent by mid-afternoon in a bullish investor response to comments this morning from the company’s chief executive regarding a war chest for spending on renewables."

Who knows... it doesnt sound like an article that would move a company by 10%.
