The biggest threat to our near future is the 'Underemployment Rate'. - ~11% of workers in NSW & Vic need more work to make ends meet.
Taken together with the Unemployment Rate for Victoria and NSW that's more than 16% of their workforces => struggle street, limited demand etc.
I'm sure Scotty from Marketing has a cunning plan to create new jobs in the filthy fossil fuel sector though - too bad about universities, research, Information Technology, high value manufacturing, tourism and exporting to China though.
