I had a large long position before the announcement, but didn't have the nerve to hold. I have done what you did today, but got caught last friday night when the non farm payroll numbers came out and went short, when it dipped, only to be liquidated out 15 mins later when it rallied signifancantly.!! I now like to sit it out about half an hour after the announcements.

Have gone long @ 8896, hoping london will be stronger.
