TJX also reported 7% increase in Sep 2009 sales which beat estimates of 4%. TJX is CER's no 1 US tenant

Most Retailers Top Expectations for September Sales Published: Thursday, 8 Oct 2009 | 8:20 AM ET Text Size By: CNBC.com A late Labor Day holiday and delayed purchases for back-to-school are helping retailers to post stronger-than-expected sales in September.
According to Thomson Reuters, about 80 percent of the retailers that reported their monthly same-stores sales results as of 7 a.m. New York time have topped average analysts' estimates for monthly sales.
Among the strongest results was Walgreen, which said its same-store sales rose 5.3 percent outpacing a 3 percent estimate, according to Thomson.
Many apparel retailers also had strong showings as consumers replenished their closets. Among those topping estimates were The Buckle [HOTT 7.70 --- UNCH (0) ], Children's Place [HOTT 7.70 --- UNCH (0) ], Limited [HOTT 7.70 --- UNCH (0) ], and Hot Topic [HOTT 7.70 --- UNCH (0) ].
