The thing about trends in populations is that the data is often the prime source of information about the underlying thing. Mortality due to various causes for example.
Extrapolating this to share trading, youre measuring sentiment. Sentiment is different to the underlying investment case, especially for small caps. The market is not efficient. If it was efficient, the market cap would not swing 30 percent in a month.
