The core product Prognosis was built to monitor Tandem, which then morphed into HP Non-Stop high availability servers. Its legacy hardware, but ultrareliable which is why it has lasted much longer than anyone thought. Payment switches often run on HP NonStop (due to their reliability) which is how IR moved into this market. Then moved into Unified Communication, which was a prescient and solid move. As I understand it, the core software Prognosis underpins all three solutions.

Prognosis tells you whats going wrong in your on-premise environment for unified communications, whether thats the hardware it runs on, the software itself (Cisco, Avaya, Skype) and the network. Really useful for large companies running their own communications infrastructure.

Now we have Teams, Webex, Zoom is SaaS (Microsoft is no longer developing Skype for Business). A corporate customer doesn't need to run its own infrastructure to use these SaaS platforms. IR says it has built product that monitors these platforms, but surely they aren't getting a look into Zoom, Microsoft, Cisco infrastructure, and even if it detects a problem, what then? Call up Microsoft and tell them they have a problem? I can't tell from anything that's been publically released what value-add these new products actually provide. I'm sure they exist, but do they help much?

if I were going to the AGM, I would be asking for specifics of what value these new products actually provide. If they have something real here, this could be great buying given they have such a great global customer base who you would think would upgrade to the new SaaS products. I think I may have convinced myself to have a punt here, though it would be a long term play; moving to the SaaS model will hit their revenue model pretty hard.
