With the greatest respect, I think you may have misunderstood. I'm suggesting if there's a shortfall in the ability to meet new car demand because there's an under supply of critical battery tech metals, with the infrastructure already in place, automakers will continue to produce ice vehicles (emissions improved undoubtedly) to meet the shortfall.As already mentioned, I'm 100% on the EV bandwagon I just don't see the complete and total demise of ICE vehicles just yet especially knowing developed nations ship off used cars in the millions to developing nations.
Governments can bloviate as much as they like, tax receipts speaks louder than politics so (I believe) there will be provisions for ICE vehicle manufacturing. If more mines come online (sooner than later) then sure, I can see a complete transition.
