I found your statement ignorant and very hard to argue at the same time.
I used to ran into situations when I had to map out all the indigenous artefacts so the operation team won't mess them up.
It really bothers me when I started thinking why aren't we putting them into museums and having them well protected with right temperature and humidity, instead just having them lying around if they were so valuable and can't be damaged.
I really hope someone could tell me why. You can't claim something is a national treasure but don't give a crap about it until someone blows it up.
