Ann: Appointment of Sean Hehir as CEO, page-312

I posted in another thred that I had been AsiaPac MD of a couple of Silicon Valley start-ups in the past. Just wanted to make the point that the first time that happened I had no prior history of being and MD/CEO. I was however a very successful sales/marketing/relationship executive who had ambition and drive. I was given the opportunity, grabbed it with both hands and it benefitted both the company and myself. Seems to me that Sean is in a similar position and although I don't know him personally his CV is good, his rolodex is good and he clearly has the will to do the job. I think its churlish of people on this forum, or the wider market, who have little or no experience as a high level IT executive to criticise Sean's appoinment. FWIW
