    I did and they are hardly credible sources. I am still of the view that you are inventing excuses that don't exist and that these things happen at the margin.

    What I will say is why the f*ck do governments allow or did allow non-residents to buy properties anyway? How stupid could you possibly be? It dilutes the value of residency and citizenship.

    Foreigners and foreign corporations should only be allowed to buy land in very specific scenarios - for example, if they're running a business or a piece of a productive agriculture that no Australian wants to commit capital to, and even then it should be a long-term lease or include a buyback clause so the government can reacquire it for the benefit of a nation.
