Just been poking about the Nations Petroleum web site again and found this info.
Now it looks as though Nations may have put up a few of its last inventory for consideration again.Jacalitos Nose prospect is one of those.
Just an interesting little bit of trivia. Fortunately I ran a copy of the list of 17 prospects on Nations "Project Inventory" page which is no longer on the website (basically because the "expressions of interest" closed at the end of September)
Now there were 3 Jacalitos prospects listed amoung those original 17.
1.) Jacalitos Footwall
2.) Jacalitos Nose
3.) Jacalitos Leda.
Now the interesting thing is that while full details on the chart are given about 1.) and 3.) there were no details supplied about depth, estimated cost, reserves estimates etc for 2.) Jacalitos Nose.
Intersting that QPN has retained a 50% interest in this prospect.
On Nations website there is a page you can get to if you follow certain links where diagrams and maps showing details about this prospect are set out. Below are the written details from that page:
"•Location: San Joaquin basin, California
•Drilling Depth: 4,000’
•Objectives: Primary - Temblor sands; Secondary: Gatchell
•Play type: stratigraphic pinch-out trap.
•Nearest Temblor Production: Jacalitos Field: 25 MMBO
Critical Risk Factors
•Pros:
•Multiple (four) reservoir targets within Temblor Formation.’
•Proven trap type in area
•Step-out from Temblor production. Low risk.
•Large upside potential
•Shallow drilling depths.
•Risks
•Poorly defined trap
•Difficult to determine best well location from logs or seismic
Estimated Reserves (P10/50/90 Cases):
•North Area Temblor : 1.9/3.0/8.0 MMBO
•South Area Temblor: 1.3/2.4/6.4 MMBO
Estimated Well Costs: $1 MM."
So it could cost QPN about US$500,000 to be involved in drilling a well here (just 4,000') to get 50% back if a commercial find !!!!!
It is given about a 36% chance of geologic success.
Worth a dabble
