Picking up an old thread, regards "green" objections to nuclear power..Someone said to me that, once you understand that many people on the "green" movement who object to nuclear do so because they actually object to modernism, futurism, progress and economic growth. Nuclear absolutely represents the future.
They envisage a world without consumerism, internet, mobiles, IC cars. a "great turning" towards a simpler agricultural rural life where barter is preferred over cash and everyone rides bicycles. They buy EVs of course, but without a thought as to the how or where the basic materials for that car come from or how billions of Evs will be powered.
