    AFR article from today - Tyro's biggest merchant base is hospitality:

    Australians spent $1.2b dining out in past fortnight, according to NAB data (copyright link)

    • Cashed-up Australians spent more than $1.2 billion at pubs, restaurants and cafes over the past fortnight.
    • Spending on food and drinks was 40 per cent higher than in the first two weeks of October – before lockdowns eased in NSW and Victoria – according to spending data from NAB.
    • Sydneysiders have been keeping hospitality workers busy since “Freedom Day” on October 11, when venues reopened to fully vaccinated patrons.
    • Large groups are back, bar sales are up and diners are staying on until last call.
    • Last weekend, the number of seated diners at Australian hospitality venues was 122 per cent higher than the same period in 2019, according to data from booking platform OpenTable.
