In answer to the question of why RFE would get good land at such good prices, in my opinion its likely to do with expertise of drilling that land. The gas doesn't just come out easily. It may also have to do with tapping equity to add more wells though I think its expertise to get the most gas out easily and for a lower cost

Horizontal Drilling Shale formations is relatively new (like coal seam) and there aren't that many in the business who know it. If you read back to an earlier post of mine about the Quciksilver sale to ENI you will also see that a large part of this for ENI was gaining access to skills in horizontal drilling in Shale formations, skills Quicksilver have. ENI are no newbiews to oil and gas though they didn't have the skills to drill shale formations in the US. ENI also want to use these skills to drill shale in Europe.

So, Gilstrap and Miller, both Directors of RFE are very valuable to this firm as they know Oklahoma and drilling these types of formations very well.

    All good
